my engine bay is really dirty theres mud all over the underside of the hood. how do i clean it without messing up the electronics? ive read that a light housing will be fine then use a rag with simple green. then spray some clear coat on it to make cleaning it next time easier. any help is appreciated.

I actually just did mine. I got a Napa brand engine cleaner/degreaser. Spray it on your engine when its cold ( its safe for everything ) let it soak in about ten minutes and hose it off real well. After that I like to use a netted spongge and soapy water and scrub everything clean, then rinse it again, and run the engine for about ten minutes and use an air hose to blow out water that settled in spots. This is mine after doing that

  4. and if your battery has corrosion, use baking soda and wash the top off will clean it right up and nuetralize the acid.

Last time I did mine, I sprayed everything with simple green let it set a few min then hosed it all down. I probably need to it again this year too.

For the battery, I found a battery spray cleaner that turns pink wherever acid is & it foams the corrosion off. Wash with water and they look like new.

If you need some nice battery terminals, I just got an order in of my gold plated ones.

All the electrical connections should be watertight, so they should be ok.
