I am wanting to cut my 60 seat on my 05 Regular cab edge and put an explorer center console. Will it work on my truck or only the older ones?

Yes It will work. You will have cut the front piece for the shifter and will need a new boot. Check it out.
I have seen them in person. I believe for that one, you will have to chop it. I saw one person install this and he had to chop and piece it back together in order for it to work. If you get it just measure and cut, well and make sure it come with the mounting brackets. Those are pretty wide so you may have a tight squeeze between the seats
Ill just forget that one then and head out to a Upull it and find one of the other easier ones, especially having the 5 spd
I think thats a wise choice. If You never pulled one before, take pics while taking it apart so you can remember how to re-install it and you dont have left over parts lol
Keep in mind.... some reg cab seats aren't easily 40/40 moddable. I say this because 98-03 and possibly into '05 seat backs are more like a full bench.....no center console. So the center chunk is tall. Post up a pic of your existing seats please.
On the seats... On my '03, the tracks unbolt AND if you get another passenger side seat, the 40 part of the 60/40, you can bolt the driver's track back on and have a set of bucket seats. The pans under the seats have holes on both side and will work on either side of the truck. The 60 part of the 60/40 has a frame that unbolted so there is no cutting and fixing of the seat covers. The cntr console needs to come off first, then the back of the seat, then the frame and track can be remove. Also, IMHO, the shorty center console is the way to go, easier all the way around.
