Well lets start with this. I am a new member here on the forum and I got stuck in the worst position ever. I have 2 project cars and my daily driver had a tranny go on it. I have to get rid of one of my projects and it happens to be my baby a 1g gst. I found a 93 ranger fwd 2.3. I have not gotten the truck yet but I hope to soon and I am a fan of rangers. MY bro has a slammed 03 blacked out ranger. The truck is black with some cab rust which I am not gonna worry about, my question is What can I do to make the 2.3 peppier I am a huge fan of performance. I am not talking past 220hp haha I just want it to be a little peppier and I plan on slamming the truck as well maybe a 5 inch drop does anyone know of any lower kits for the 93?

Now you mentioned that it is a 4wd truck. My question to you is why would you want to lower a 4wd truck? It would make more sense to lift it right? but neways, more performance out of a 4cyl. hmmmmmm. Well you could start with a cai (cold air intake). next would be exhaust. Obviously a motor has to breath!! Thats where I would start. !!!!!!Lift-----Not Lower!!!! Come on, Its 4wd!!!
This company makes some performance parts for the 2.3's http://www.esslingeracing.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc? And if it is 4X4 don't lower it....if you're wanting a lowered truck with performance you might as well take the 4wd axle out from under it and swap in the 2wd setup its bolt in since that is a ttb style truck. Then you can sell the 4wd axle for more money to put into the truck.
Just to let you know esslinger racing makes midget motors. They get upwards of 450 hp out of an N/A 4 cylinder pinto motor. Pretty amazing since they're realiable as all hell:thumbsup:
