Dean, this is mitch. If its still overheating, I was told by this good ol boy to do a cowl induction hood. If you do that it should help. the big motor doesn't make air through the grill easy. I've looked into it and wanted to do the conversion to my 88 4x4. Hope that helps. :)
Yeah. the u joints are a confusing bit. I had to replace mine on the diff and I had to pack the rest with grease cause my bad driveline tore it all up.
I agree. mine kicks in on my 88 but the bearings in my compressor have gone south so it tries to kill the truck when it idles. try the freon, get a thing to recharge it at walmart for like 13$.

My 88 ranger is having episodes where i will hit the gas to get up to speed and i will go to change gears and it will hit 4000 rpms in neutral. Is my tps on the growing list of parts I need?
Yeah. I could bick up a parts rig for probly 400$ off cl. oh, and i have a question. I had my truck out for a drive and i decided to gun the motor to get up to speed and i went to hit third gear and i couldn't cause my motor hit 4000 rpms. i took my foot off the gas and it still stayed for 2...
