Okay so... Ryan has decided to trade his Jeep for an 83 Bronco. My question is, how much is the towing capacity for my truck?

The one thing I'm worried about is my trans getting screwed if I tow the Jeep about 2 hours south and then towing the Bronco back another 2 hours. This is on a trailer, as well. So adding that weight to it.

Well, the Jeep isn't technically drivable at the moment. The brakes don't work, it's not plated or insured.

well i know for a fact that you can haul the jeep, just acceleration will be slower and stopping will take a little longer, the bronco might be a little heavy

I agree. The Jeep isn't what I'm too worried about. My truck towed Ryan's project truck, the 2000 Ranger for about a half hour, with no problems at all. It's the Bronco that I'm getting the lube ready for... Haha.

Neither do I. I'd say he should just drive it back, but that's two tanks we gotta fill. And I'd hate to fill a Bronco up with these gas prices... :/

He's ripping the engine and interior out of it for his 86 and then scrapping it.

    Yea, lol.

If anyone else could give me some more info, that'd be great. I don't even know the towing capacity of my truck.

  19. you can tow it , should not be a problem . towing spec is like 5k pounds plus do not use the overdrive

So, towing the Bronco + trailer should be fine? Just making sure. OD will be turned off.
