Ok, so I've got some quick fist clamps on the way to mount my shovel to the inside of the bed, along the side. however, theres that little hump that prevents mounting it flat against the side. So, anyone have suggetsions as to what to use to make a second hump thing? that way I can use both as mounting points. hump thing in the picture here is what im talking about, just above the wheel well. and no, the one farther ahead is not close enough to use either. *not my truck*

it would be, But ive got an action packer bolted down up there haha. do you think some bent steel bolted to the bed side would work? I wanna keep things as simple as possible. Thought about attaching them to the bottom of the bed, but then when I haul things the mounts would be in the way.
I made a set of those 4xRAC Hi-Lift mounts for my Toyota in high school. Mounted it on the passenger inside bedwall just like you're thinking about. Just make new ones that'll allow the Hi-Lift to clear the "hump" above the wheel well. I welded bolts to the sheet metal, laid on the brackets, used nuts to secure them. The truck was a wheeler and kind of a pile. lol. On something nice, I'd use nutserts like pictured below... You're gonna wanna secure it right... those brackets do a superb job at that. But at a rather high cost considering it's just flat plate with a couple of bends and bolts. But if you don't have the skills or access to make them, $60 isn't too bad of a cost. Hi-Lift has an alternative option that mounts to the bedrail lip that amazon lists it at $26 US... http://www.hi-lift.com/accessories/loc-rac.html
Yeah I found those mounts after I posted this. But for 50 bucks, I think I'll try making my own. Like you said, kinda expensive for what they are.
should have my quick fist mounts soon, will see what i'll do once i get them and try different ideas. will report back when I figure out what i'm gonna do
Thought I'd update this. Was able to use the clamps at different angles to make it work. Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk
You can use a block of whatever you want to space out to even things out... wood, aluminum, whatever. You need to reach up from underneath to attach, some thru bolts and nuts to keep things tight then mount the specialty mounts. Just thinking here nothing else.
