I have a 1995 Ford ranger other a 3.0 engine. On June 11, 2024 I had to buy a new battery and starter. In June 19th, while driving to a doctors appointment, a really loud grinding noise coming from the drivers side of engine. Hi drove it about a mile and stopped. I listened to noise with hood up . It sounded like it as coming from the starter area. I then turned engine off and tried to crank it again and it wouldn't start back up. As much as I try to figure it out in my head, I can't figure out what caused it or what damage it caused. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
