Hey I'm new to this forum and have been poking around for sometime. I can say this is the most helpful ford ranger specific forum that I have ever seen. I have a 98 4 cly Ranger and I want to install a cold air intake but I have no idea where to start because I have a 4 cyl with a V6 throttle body so I can have cruise control with my manual transmission. I guess my first question would be should I get a 4 cyl cold air intake and modify it so it fits the V6 throttle body or should I get a V6 cold air intake and reroute it someway?
Edit: or maybe I just need an adapter like this? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/knn-08724/all/year/1998/make/ford/model/ranger

Even with the regular throttle body, the cold air intake really does nothing. Your stock air box takes in cold air as you go, so there is really no difference. I recommend saving your money you would spend on that and put it toward something that will actually do well for your truck. In my experience, the only advantage of a cold air intake is you clean the filter instead of replacing it...and thats its.
