so here is whats going on. we have an 88 ranger and it was running great one day. my father in law took it for the day and washed the engine first thing in the morning. he then drove it around all day long with no problems. when he dropped it off that evening it was the last time it had ran. we went to start it after he parked it and it gave us nothing just cranking and cranking. finally after a good while of trying it fired up for a sec and as soon as we started to go it killed and sense then has done nothing. we started messing with it and found out that we werent getting any spark so we replaced the ignition sylonoid swithch, all our positive and ground wires from the battery, the coil, the starter, and the ignition controll module. after doing all that we were able to pull a spark plug and see that we were getting spark. Still nothing. so we then went to the fuel side and found out that the pump was not giving anything. just to make sure the pump was dead we hooked it strait to the battery and it was definatly dead. so we got a new pump put on it and still nothing other than cranking. we sprayed started fluid into the air intake and the engine will fire and run until the fuel burns up. so we tested the bleeder valve on the fuel rail and we have fuel and pressure to the rail but for some reason it just wont fire up. any ideas and or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Check pulse to the injectors. Sounds like you have some wiring issues.
