    Hi all

I purchased my first Ranger from 2nd owner - 1994 4-cylinder, 5-spd, 175k miles - a year ago. Runs great but at 14/city/18 hwy gas mileage is far below the original 19/24 rating. I've had a good shop do a major tuneup. I've replaced oxygen sensor (twice) and mass air flow sensor. All with little MPG improvement. Owner had mentioned camshaft position sensor replacement was needed but my shop said not necessary since check engine light not on. Couple months ago out of desperation I decided to change it anyway. After much work removing everything for access, there was nothing there nor any place to install one! Later came across some info on justanswer.car that only CA trucks had the CPS (I'm in WA) and that's why I didn't find anything.

I'm ready to get rid of what's been a great truck because of the poor mileage. Anybody have any thoughts before the For Sale sign goes up?

    Thanks all,
    Larry
