1992 Ford Ranger, woo!

  1. Hello!

A long, long time ago (1994), I was a teenager who learned stick and how to get into trouble in a 1988 Ford Ranger. Skip forward too many decades, and my Nissan econobox began its slow slide into death, so I picked up an indeterminate-mileage 1992 with 5 speed manual and a 2.3l I4 as a backup. Fixing its many issues has been a lot like reliving my youth, except now my everything hurts the next morning, lol

Anyhow, thought I'd sign up to the forum that's been my #1 source for repair and troubleshooting advice. When I got this one, it ran stupid rich and had low power and barely made it home. After researching in books and here, code reading, testing parts, and replacing a veritable cornucopia of worn and/or dysfunctional original parts, it now runs as well as I could ever hope (up to 19MPG and more power than I'm used to. I'm willing to live with that after all I've done!). I finally once again have the vehicle I always remembered and wanted, and I'm very grateful.

Have a wonderful week ahead, and thank all of you for everything!
