I recently acquired a 1999 ranger with 3.0 engine/. It was in the middle of an auto trans replacement when its owner passed away. when I bought the truck, all the parts, including the replacement tranny were in the bed of the truck... except the wye pipe connecting the exhaust manifolds to the cat. I have been unable to locate a replacement from auto parts vendors. I was hoping someone in the Ranger community might know a source for one or maybe a muffler shop that that fabbed these up to fill the void in the replacement market. Anybody who could help in this dilemma would be appreciated. I was hoping to avoid having to scour the boneyards for one of these as salvage exhaust parts typically are not in great condition. Thank You!

Needless to say, "bone yards" is your option. If you are in California, Stealership only. I have seen some off Ebay or you might even find it on rock auto.com. There are to CATs on each side of the head and a main CAT.

Question.........can you replace the entire exhaust without a CALIFORNIA exhaust without problems? I have a 2000 and I cant get the o2 sensor out and if so I might damage the CALIFORNIA wye pipe. IF I do then I am screwed. Will the exhaust mess with the computer if it already had a CALIFORNIA exhaust ?? TIA, Matty

It would run just fine. When you take it to a SMOG shop to have the emission test, the tech going to fail you for not having CA emission exhaust. Why not just soak the O2 sensor with penitrating oil and try to get it off? I might have read somewhere that the 4.0L engine maybe the same (not 100% sure).
