How fast in which gear?

Anyone ever notice if you've pulled a very high speed in any particular gear?
The truck I call "Whitey Ford " has the 2.5L four cylinder engine with the 5 spd manual tranny and 3.45 gears in the rear end.
I've pulled 62 mph in 3rd, which is a little over 4300 rpm.
The other day, I had to hit it while pulling out in traffic and I pulled first gear out to about 33 mph.
    ...5692+ rpm
In fact, I grabbed for second and the truck slowed down, because I didn't realize I was already out of the normal speed zone for second!
Quick upshift to 3rd kept it pulling (not too shabby for a truck with 187K original miles on the engine, if you ask me =) )
Sometimes, this truck has me wishing I'd never sold the Mazda that preceeded it, but at least this one can pull some R's when I need it to.

Anyone else got any "speed" stories they want to boast about?
