    Hey guys,

I'm in the process of gathering parts so i can get my truck running again. My frame rusted out next to my gas tank, before the rivets. I have a great welder who is going to be plating both sides and reinforcing them. I am having problems finding part numbers or anywhere to buy the front frame mounts for the leaf springs.

I just had surgery Monday for dislocating my elbow, tearing a ligament and bicep tendon, so one handed internet searches are very time consuming. I appreciate anyones help! thanks!

    BOOM: http://www.rangerframefix.com/

Also check this VERY informative with VERY GOOD photos. Different year truck and slightly different rear frame, but the information pertains to your project... http://imgur.com/a/WpQR8

If you've got that kind of rust by the gas tank, it makes me wonder how the rest of it is. Usually the rear shackle hanger fails first before anything else.

Hey sorry for not looking really in depth into it... I can't seem to locate front hangers for a Gen4+ on that site. They do however list one for a Gen3. I was always under the impression that the front hangers are the same from '83-12. So some further research might need to happen.

    Here's their Gen3 front leaf hangers... http://www.rangerframefix.com/1993-1997-truck-parts/1-rear-leaf-spring-hanger-front.html

EDIT: LMC Truck lists Gen4 98+ front leaf hangers. And boy are they spendy compared to Gen3 93-97 trucks! But a necessary evil I suppose.

Hey man, 2001 extended cab 4x4 with the same problem here. I had some cash so I went to the junk yard and found a nice '98 ranger with a great frame and literally cut the frame in half just forward of the rivets. Took about 3 hours and I did leave the leafsprings (and all their attachments) with it. I had my rear frame swapped out and POR-15'd the whole frame and for less than 2K I think I did out pretty well. I'm not an expert but I had the tools to get it all done.

Personally I wouldn't weld good steel onto a rust bucket, my truck was, and the frame I found had barely surface rust at that.

    Good luck man!
