i have a friend who's ranger i am wrenching on and i cant seem to find whats wrong with it. he said it drove fine till one day it just started running really bad so he parked it and now it wont start at all. i changed the plugs, wires, fuel filter, fuel pump, took the ignition module and tested it, said it was good? im at a loss any help would be greatly appraciated.

Yes it turns over but does not even try to start. When I first got it it would try to start but acted like it was not getting enough fuel. Now it just keeps cranking but that's all.
have you got spark at the plugs, ? remove one spark plug and reconnect the wire to it and chk for spark
Would you believe it was the throttle position sensor. On a whim I thought I would change the tps and it started right up.
Here is a website that you can use for information to check for any codes on an OBD I ECC. It can save you from throwing a lot of parts at a problem. Your check engine does not have to be on to find out problems. http://oldfuelinjection.com/?p=13
