I am considering buying a 1991 Ranger. The VIN is: 1FTCR15X4MTA16253. While I did not buy a complete vehicle history, the following discription is: 1991 Ford Ranger Custom STX/XLT 4.0L V-6 EFI. This truck has 142670 actual miles. The truck looks like a brand new vehicle, except for a pencil eraser size dent on one fender. The exterior shines with no discoloration of paint and the interior is near flawless. The radio has been changed to a CD/FM/AM with remote and the door armrests to show some slight discoloration. The previous owner put Dean Mud Terrain tires and an Interstate Mega-Tron Plul 85 Battery. He is asking $1,000. Is this a good buy for a 21 year old truck?

sounds like a good price, besure to chk under neath at the transmission for leaks around phx AZ I see them listed for 4x4's for 1300-1900 dollars but all say tranny leaks and some have issue with not going into reverse
Sounds good but like others have said, thoroughly inspect it and test drive it before any money exchanges hands. I've seen too many members join up saying they just bought a new ranger thats too good to be true and then the headgasket or other blows a few days later.
Thanks for all of your input. I bought the Ranger and sold it already. I trippled my money. Since I wanted to use it for hauling mulch and shrubs this spring, it was too good for me!. Today, I bought another bargain basement '91 Ranger STX 4x4. This one does have issues. I will be searching the forum for answers. Again, thanks for your input.
